EPISCOPAL COMMUNITY
SERVICES
(ECS)

Good Shepherd actively supports ECS, the Diocese's social service agency, throughout the year.

We celebrate E.C.S. Sunday in late spring, fill and donate backpacks for children served by E.C.S.in summer, and donate gift cards at holiday time.

For information about the organization and more information on hands-on activities for volunteers visit ECS's new website at ecsphilly.org
G.S. Parish representative is Cathy Shelton.

FOOD CUPBOARD OFFERINGS FOR
ST. VINCENT'S

Please bring your offerings of non-perishable foods such as tuna, peanut butter, and other staples for family meals.  Our offerings are donated to St. Vincent's Food Cupboard. Please place your food donations in the container at the entrance.

Northwest Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network (NPIHN)

Homeless families are hosted at area churches throughout the year.  Good Shepherd does not have the facilities to be a host site, but we sometimes share volunteer duties with local hosts. Some orientation and training are available before our assigned weeks. Call the church office at 215-844-0580 or use this site's e-mail contact form if you would like to take part - we'll connect you!

Members of the network parishes help to host temporarily homeless families at various churches in Northwest Philadelphia. NPIHN provides these families with shelter, and guides them to find employment and housing. You can help by either preparing food or helping to care for children during and after the dinner hour.  For more information on their ministry, see philashelter.org.
